Anna KarinBoth figures and dialog scenes in fictional texts were considered marginal in medieval studies and historical linguistic research for a long time. This study uses character dialog as a method of approaching the characterization of male protagonists in Gottfried’s Tristan. It connects linguistic and literary analysis to open up new perspectives on both the characters and the medium of character dialog.
